We tested Skype this past weekend when I was at my soccer referee academy and the video worked, but the microphone in my computer is apparently broken. I will be bringing a headset with a mic.
I started the malaria pills last night. Have to take one per day until we are back. Had no negative reaction so that is good.
At work, everyone is supportive and everything is delegated. My team is very competent and hopefully all will go well and my boss doesn't fire me while I am gone. As a sales leader, leaving during the last month of a quarter is usually not the brightest move.
I am looking forward to the 24 hours of flight time to get to Dar in Tanzania!

Initial message
Five days til departure on my Corporate Service Corps assignment to Tanzania. One suitcase packed at 55 pounds which is too much. My other bag is my safari bag purchased at Goodwill for $2.60 US in case some Rhino decides to put a horn through my luggage. I have the 16 team t-shirts with our CSC team logo. Camera gear, candy for the kids we will meet - and me, lemonade drink powder as I would go into withdrawal without it, some granola bars, my sun hat, enough mosquito repellant to protect the entire town and somewhere I will need to pack business clothes.
This weekend instead of being at home for a last weekend with my family, I am at an advanced soccer referee clinic for two days. We found out that International soccer referees get security protection from the time they land in the plane til the time they depart. I am hoping there is an opportunity to go to a game in Tanzania. It should be interesting.
I am including our team logo created by Maria. -Testing how to get pictures in the blog.
And for those of you that may not get snow.
Just kidding, we don't have that much in Iowa, but what we do have will be gone when I get back.
